Eleven Stays started because two of us kept arriving at places that looked nothing like the listing. Not lies exactly — a wide lens, a good morning, and a careful crop. So we started photographing the houses we liked ourselves, and writing down what the listing had left out.

Six things you can check before you send any money.
The host's price is the price. A listing site would add 12 to 18 percent on top of it.
You get their name and number before you pay, not after the booking clears.
Every picture was taken by us on a stay. None were supplied by the owner.
A slow geyser or a rough last mile is on the page, not left for you to find.

Before you book
Including the ones a listing site buries. If something is not here, ask on WhatsApp and we will add it.
A listing site adds its fee on top of the host's price — usually 12 to 18 percent. Booking here removes it. You also get the host's number rather than a messaging system that hides it until after payment.
Every photograph on this site was taken by us on a stay, not supplied by the owner. Where a house has a fault we have not fixed — a slow geyser, a road that needs a high-clearance car — it is written on that house's page rather than left for you to discover.
The nightly rate, plus a cleaning charge stated on each page. No service fee, no booking fee, and no charge for paying by UPI. Taxes are shown before you confirm, never after.
Thirty percent to hold the dates, the rest seven days before you arrive. UPI or bank transfer. We do not ask for the full amount up front, and we do not hold your card.
Free cancellation up to seven days before check-in, with the deposit returned in full. Inside seven days the deposit is held, because at that point the host has usually turned other guests away.
Some are, and each page says so plainly. Where pets are allowed there is no extra charge, though we ask you to say so when you enquire so the host can prepare.
Driving time, which is the honest number rather than the distance: Coorg 6h, Chikmagalur 5h, Sakleshpur 4h, Gokarna 9h, Mysuru 3h. Add an hour in monsoon.
In selected areas, yes — 45 minutes through Quick Elevens. Ask when you enquire and we will tell you whether your house is in range before you book, not after.
